highway 98 construction

The Florida Department of Transportation is currently widening and improving seven miles of U.S. 98 in Walton and Okaloosa Counties, During construction, drivers should anticipate nighttime lane closures from 8:30p.m. - 5a.m., reduced speed limits, and periodic lane shifts. To avoid the most construction, guests are advised to stay on I-10 until they reach FL-293, then go through Niceville and take the Midbay bridge to Destin. Click here to download a map of the construction work with more information.

sandestin Construction

Sandestin announced in 2018 that they will build a new 250-room hotel and conference center which will be located adjacent to the Baytowne Conference Center where our Convention activities are held. Construction of the new Sandestin Hotel is underway with completion projected for April 2020. This new construction will affect parking for our 2019 Convention. For 2019, we highly recommend that you consider booking units in the Grand Complex or Village early for ease of convenience, as these units are in walking distance to the Baytowne Conference Center. If you choose accommodations away from the conference center, please plan to use the dedicated and resort transportation services while on property. Click here for the webcam of construction.

tram service

Sandestin offers complimentary on-property transportation throughout the resort. Trams are available to resort guests by showing a valid Sandestin amenity card (room key) or wristband. A resort map with the tram stops can be viewed here.

Check-in/check-out updates
