Course Materials
Links to the e-materials will be listed with your course registration in your account on the MSCPA website seven calendar days before the course. You will receive an e-mail when the materials are available.
The option to request printed materials is only available up to 5 business days prior to the course date. Walk-in registrants and those registering between 1 and 5 days before the course will be sent an electronic link to the e-materials by default. “Extra” printed course materials will not be available on site. Printed materials are not available for conferences.

Justin Bell
Jusitn Bell serves as the Manager, Talent Acquisition at HORNE. He started his career in recruiting as an Admission Counselor of his alma mater the University of Mississippi, where he received his Bachelors in 2014. During his time as a college recruiter Justin served 43 high schools in the state of MS and additionally, he managed communications with 9 states in the upper Midwest. Justin later made a transition to C Spire where he served as a Corporate Recruiter for several years. Prior to joining HORNE, Justin earned his Master of Business Administration at Belhaven University which fostered an environment for his spiritual and professional growth.
Katie L. Hutson
Katie Hutson is the recruiting coordinator and supervisor 1 with six (6) years' experience in the tax department. Katie specializes in tax preparation services for individual and corporate clients in a variety of industries including construction and real estate, medical practices and physicians, law firms and attorneys, retail stores and wholesale suppliers.
Katie received her Bachelor and Master's of Professional Accountancy from Mississippi State University.
Domina Kaler
Domina is an audit senior manager with Haddox Reid with ten years of experience in public accounting. She performs various types of audit and compliance engagements for nonpublic entities as well as specializing in employee benefit plan audits. She is a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants where she currently serves as one of the central chapter representatives on the Board of Governors. She has also previously served on the Board of the Central Chapter where she served as treasurer. She is also a member of the Mississippi Young CPA Network, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Madison County Young Professionals, and is the past President of the Jackson Chapter of the Accounting & Finance Women's Association. She is a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor's and Master's in Accounting. In her spare time, she loves to travel, read, and attends as many Ole Miss athletic events as possible.

Annette K. Pridgen
Annette K. Pridgen is a graduate of Jackson State University and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi. She taught for five years at Ole Miss before returning to Jackson State University in 2013. Before going into academe, Annette was employed by the Office of the Mississippi State Auditor. In 2015, Annette was honored by receiving the Association of Government Accountants' Cornelius E. Tierney Research Award for her research in governmental accounting. She has received numerous other awards including the Faculty Excellence Award for the College of Business at Jackson State University, the outstanding dissertation award from the Government & Nonprofit Section of the American Accounting Association, and the Doctoral Teaching Award from the E. H. Patterson School of Accountancy at Ole Miss. Her service at the national level has included her 2013 selection as a member of the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) Green Book Advisory Council to update the standards for internal control of the United States government. In 2016, she was asked to serve on the GAO Yellow Book Advisory Council to update the government auditing standards. Annette retired from Jackson State University in the summer of 2019. She has chaired the MSCPA Awards, Education & Scholarships Committee of which she had been a member of since 2003. Dr. Pridgen is a past secretary of the MSCPA (2017-2018). She is also the past Chairman of the MSCPA (2020-2021).
Michael T. Skinner
Mike has over 20 years' experience providing IT and cybersecurity consulting services to organizations across multiple industries including financial institutions, medical providers, accounting firms, and small business.
Mike is a frequent speaker on cybersecurity and IT assurance topics to university students, industry organizations, and local, state, and national conferences. He has a passion for educating users on the importance of cybersecurity in their everyday life.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Accountancey and Master of Accountancy,
both with an emphasis in information systems, from the University of Mississippi. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Mississippi and Tennessee and a Certified Information Technology Professional. In 2016, Mike was recognized by the AICPA as one of the top technology assurance professionals under the age of 40.
Jan Taylor
Jan Taylor (Morris), Ph.D., CPA, CGMA, joined AICPA in 2021 as the Academic in Residence. Jan has taught multiple courses in the accounting curriculum, primarily financial accounting-related and auditing. She has published on a variety of topics in multiple journals throughout her career and has served in numerous volunteer roles at AICPA, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Texas Society of CPAs. Jan is licensed as a CPA in Texas and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) through the AICPA.
Brenda G. Walker
Brenda Walker is the Vice President of Acccounting for C Spire, a privately held telecommunications and technology company driven to deliver the best experiences in wireless, fiber internet, and business IT solutions headquartered in Ridgeland, MS. Before joining C Spire in 2005, Brenda spent almost 10 years in public accounting. Brenda graduated from USM in 1991 and received her CPA license in 1993. She and her husband Clint live in Brandon, MS and have two children.
Laura Wiley
Laura D. Wiley, PhD, CPA
Laura Wiley is the Assistant Department Chair and distinguished instructor in the Department of Accounting at Louisiana State University (LSU). She also serves as the Director of International Experience for the E. J. Ourso College of Business. In 2022, she was awarded the LSU Communication Across the Curriculum Outstanding Faculty Award. In 2019, she was awarded the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation Outstanding Instructor Award. Laura is active in the Society of Louisiana CPAs (LCPA) and served as the chair of the Accounting Education Issues committee from 2014 through 2023. She received the LCPA's Distinguished Achievement in Education award in 2015. Laura is co-author of an auditing textbook, currently in its second edition, published by John Wiley & Sons, Auditing: A Practical Approach with Data Analytics. She is a contributing author on the 18th edition of Intermediate Accounting by Kieso, Weygandt, and Warfield, also published by John Wiley & Sons. Prior to coming to LSU in 1996, she was an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Atlanta, GA. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of Alabama, her master's degree in accounting from LSU, and her doctorate in human resource education and workforce development from LSU. She is an active licensed CPA in the state of Louisiana.
