Description

This course will cover choice of entity alternatives, both historically and in light of recent and prospective tax changes. Tax treatment, flexibility, and fact-specific concerns all impact decisions regarding choice of entity, this course will provide participants with tools and information to work with their clients to craft appropriate and effective structures and plans.

Michael A. Carraway

Michael A. Carraway Jr., CPA is a principal of GranthamPoole PLLC, headquartered in Ridgeland. Mike has almost twenty-three years of experience in working with businesses, owners, and executives in the areas of federal and state income tax, mergers and acquisitions, structuring, and strategic planning in such industries as manufacturing, construction, real estate, engineering, law, medicine, and technology. Graduating summa cum laude as a Taylor Medalist with a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree at Ole Miss in 1994, he went on to earn a Master of Accountancy with Tax Emphasis in 1995, also at Ole Miss. Having practiced in Big Six/Big Four/national firms for many years, Mike has worked with GranthamPoole since 2014. He has spoken and taught in many venues over the years and is an active member of both the AICPA and the MSCPA, having previously served as a member of the Taxation Committee with the latter. He is also a past board member and chairman of the Mississippi Tax Institute.
