Joseph E. Hines
Joseph E. (Joey) Hines, CPA, CFF, MAFF, is a partner at Tann, Brown & Russ Company, PLLC, a Jackson accounting and consulting firm. Currently serving as manager of the firm’s litigation and forensic accounting services practice, he has participated in over 400 insurance and litigation services engagements. He has substantial experience in handling business interruption insurance claims and in fire loss litigation support services and has also served as an expert or consultant in such areas as personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination, employee fraud, family law and lost profits. He has over 35 years experience in public accounting, with an extensive background in both auditing and income tax services. Joey is a member of the MSCPA’s Business Valuation and Litigation Services Committee and served as chairman of that committee from 2012 to 2014. He is also a member of the National Association of Forensic Economics, an associate member of the Mississippi Claims Association and a past president, treasurer and board member of the Madison the City Chamber of Commerce. Joey has published multiple articles in the MSCPA Newsletter on the subject of business interruption insurance claims, and he has delivered presentations on forensic accounting topics at conferences both in and outside of Mississippi. Additionally, he has qualified as an expert witness in various Chancery and Circuit Courts in Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as in U. S. District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi.
Jonathan M. Legner
Jon is an assurance services manager at HORNE LLP. He specializes in auditing for public and middle market clients by identifying and correcting control risks, errors and omissions from financial statements. Jon is also a leader in using data analytics to gain valuable insights for his clients. Jon joined HORNE in 2011. Jon earned his Bachelor of Accountancy and Master of Professional Accountancy from Mississippi State University.

Melissa possesses over 30 years of HR experience. Prior to joining the Acuity team, Melissa was part of a global retailer as a Divisional Vice President/HRBP for the Technology team for the last 4 years. She also has experience in financial services and consulting. She provides guidance, training and support to clients in the areas of recruiting and onboarding, talent management, employee relations, employment law compliance, organizational development, overall development of best practices of HR management.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial Relations and Labor Studies from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. She also is certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR).
