Description

This seminar, led by a representative of the Mississippi Department of Revenue, will include an Introduction on Sales Tax: Levies, Returns and Filing, and Exemptions; Use Tax; Casual Sales Tax; Industry-Specific Sales Tax; Contractor's Tax; and more. This seminar will be a great opportunity to get the latest Sales and Use Tax information directly from the Department of Revenue.

Bio information:

1993 – Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Mississippi State University) 1994 – Completed Master’s Degree in Accounting –Tax Emphasis (Mississippi State University)

1994 – 1996 Began working for the State Tax Commission as a casino auditor responsible for completing compliance audits of casino gaming revenue tax and gaming withholding tax.

1996 – 1997 Spent one year auditing sales and use tax. 1997 – 2002 Assisted auditors with audits of taxpayers through electronic audit methods. 2002 – 2006 Deputy Director of the Sales and Use Tax Bureau 2006 – Current Director of the Sales and Use Tax Bureau
