Links to the e-materials will be listed with your course registration in your account on the MSCPA website seven calendar days before the course. You will receive an e-mail when the materials are available.

The option to request printed materials is only available up to 5 business days prior to the course date. Walk-in registrants and those registering between 1 and 5 days before the course will be sent an electronic link to the e-materials by default. “Extra” printed course materials will not be available on site. Printed materials are not available for conferences.



Leaders

Rebecca L. Geiger

Rebecca is an assurance services senior manager at HORNE LLP. She provides accounting and advisory services, Sarbanes-Oxley consulting, internal audit and other assurance services primarily to public and middle market clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, agribusiness, food services, energy, transportation and distribution. Rebecca also has a significant level of experience assisting nonprofits, government contractors and employee benefit plans.

Joseph Green

Joe Green serves as an assurance partner at HORNE LLP. He leads the accounting and advisory services team in providing assurance, internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley consulting services to a number of public and middle market companies in the pharmaceutical, agribusiness, and oil and gas industries. Joe specializes in revenue recognition, stock compensation, business combinations and accounting for income taxes.

Phil Hull

Hull retired as the Supervisory Special Agent in Mississippi with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division in January 2014 after 26 plus years with the agency. During his career, he successfully completed in excess of 200 criminal financial investigations including criminal tax and money laundering cases. In addition, Hull was the case agent for the grand jury investigation of AmSouth Bank involving Bank Secrecy Act reporting requirements including failure to file suspicious activity reports in a timely, complete and accurate manner and for failing to have an appropriate program for detecting and reporting suspicious activity. He received numerous awards during his career including the selection for the nationwide award as the IRS Criminal Investigation “Special Agent of the Year.”

Hull is currently a self-employed owner of Financial Crimes Investigative, Compliance & Security, LLC (FCICS). The company provides financial investigative assistance involving civil and criminal matters. In addition, the company provides all services involving Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money laundering compliance.

Laura E. Lewis

Laura Lewis, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor. She obtained her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mississippi College and later went on to study clinical counseling and psychology in their Doctoral of Professional Counseling program. She has previous experience addressing a broad range of mental health and medical issues while working as the Adult Program Coordinator for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. She also served as a Medical Officer for a detention center and has experience providing care to clients from a wide scope demographically. Laura enjoys working with all age groups and populations. She has experience in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain, grief recovery, identity building, marital issues, and comorbid medical issues. Other areas of interest include eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders, as well as eating disorders NOS), trauma recovery, and personality disorders. Laura provides individual, family, and marital services, and she primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral, dialectal behavioral, brief solution focused, and systemic approaches in her clinical treatment. She enjoys helping clients gain a renewed sense of hope and purpose for their lives.
